Panya & Pojjana Kamman
Hi! My name is Panya Kamman and I would love to show you around beautiful Phuket! Let me tell you a little about myself…
My family comes from the North-East of Thailand, in the Ubonrachathani Province. I went to primary school there until year 4, and then did not study further until I joined and served in the army. After I finished serving in the army at 22, I left my family to live and work in Bangkok. I applied to work in the YMCA (Young Men’s Christian Association) and around this time I met my lovely wife, Pojjana. We have one son, Piew, who is 9 years old now. I was also studying in the evening to finish my high school education, and after that I began a degree at The Ramkhamhang University, studying political science. This lead to a job at the Post Publishing Public Company (newspaper), where I worked for 15 years before making a change and moving to Phuket.
I moved to Phuket on the advice of a friend, who told me what a lovely place to live and work in it was – and she was right! When I first arrived in Phuket, I saw that it was a beautiful part of my country and understood why so many visitors come here each year. I began working as a taxi driver, taking tourists around to see the sights of Phuket. I am still based at the same place as when I started – in front of the Holiday Inn, Patong. One day, I had 2 customers – Diane and Mick who I took for a day trip around the island. They really enjoyed their day with me, and posted a very positive review on TripAdvisor. I can not thank them enough for doing this, as after that, I began to recieve many more enquires and bookings from tourists.
I decided that I wanted to gain my TAT licence, to be an official guide to visitors to Phuket, so in September 2011, I studied to be a qualified and registered tour guide. I worked hard and finished the course and in February 2012, applied to the Tourist Authority of Thailand and was granted my licence. I am now fully qualified and licenced to arrange and take tours and organise a range of experiences for tourists, including day trips, evening shows, cooking classes and much more. I am much more than the taxi driver that I started out as, and I am enjoying the new challenges that my interesting job gives me. I really enjoy helping tourists to discover the wonderful island of Phuket, and really put my heart into my job.
It would be my absolute pleasure to help you arrange your next trip to Phuket. I am able to provide much more than transport – as well as aiport transfers, I can plan day trips, book tickets for you at good prices, arrange cooking classes, and research just about any experience you are interested in in Phuket. I would like to give my heartfelt and most sincere thanks to all of my customers so far for giving me the chance to show you around Phuket. A huge thank you to Diane and Mick for their first and very kind review of my services, which gave me more work and made me known on TripAdvisor.
Please don’t hesitate to contact me with your enquiries or requests, or for a quote for your upcoming trip. I would very much appreciate the opportunity to work for you and make your trip to Phuket special.
